We are looking for a strong Chef/Sous/Kitchen Supervisor full-time earning £17/hour (35K-40K per year) - Dorking, Surrey, RH4 1SA

Day shifts only with fantastic company benefits including parking

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

 

The position will support the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager in a large known Care Home in Dorking, Surrey.

The care home kitchen is open from 07h30 to 6pm and there will not be any need for late evening shifts.

At times you will lead the meal prep/service and it's super important that you are organised, able to work on your own and deliver to the high standards of the care home whilst maintaining all health and safety and food hygiene standards.

 

THE CARE HOME

 

The care home has around 70 residents and a care team of around  50 colleagues, however, you will prepare breakfast, lunch and a light dinner for the residents only at a maximum of 70 guests.

SOME OF YOUR DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Prepare menu in line with allocated food budget following the chosen daily menu
  • Full stock management, counts, ordering and dealing with suppliers
  • Health and Safety, Food Hygiene standards, service and operational standards
  • Full Kitchen Management in the absence of the Head Chef

 

YOUR EXPERIENCE

 

  • You will have worked in a care home previously of a similar size
  • Strong understanding of the care home environment and its unique challenges
  • Full kitchen supervisor/management experience, able to demonstrate your ability to manage a kitchen on your own
  • You will hold an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Able to participate in continuous improvement and vocational training programmes
  • Have an understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008
  • Strong communicator, service-led with strong care for people with a natural can-do attitude
