I was born into hospitality and held my first restaurant positions in our family restaurant in South Africa where I worked my way up from kitchen porter to restaurant manager. Moving back to England I worked in the West End slowly moving out of Central London where I found diverse opportunity in the fast paced Heathrow Airport.
For the last seven years I have focused on airport businesses. I was integral in securing the contract for a Chez Gerard Brasserie and then moved onto a project with Sony in the opening of a flagship retail electronics store. This progressed to Dixons where I was the Regional Manager for eight retail stores. I then took on a startup opportunity for Heston Blumenthal's, The Perfectionists Cafe in the new Queens Building at Heathrow Terminal Two. We recruited over 100 new staff to The Fat Duck Group, trained and developed the teams, implemented operational structure and established business plans moving forward.
Following on from the successful restaurant opening I inducted a Restaurant Manager to lead the business forward and moved naturally into recruitment and consulting. As an accomplished restaurateur I am able to fully understand the industry, engage with candidates on a personal level and have a deeper understanding of my clients needs allowing me to be integral to the recruitment strategy.
