Day shifts only in our London production kitchen

£35,000 to £40,000 per year with a potential bonus structure TBC

 

We are looking for an experience production kitchen manager to lead a brigade of 4 chefs in supporting the fresh food menu’s to our high street cafe’s. We are an established brand, a brunch cafe only open days serving healthy fresh food and drink; an independant brand with a passion for hospitality, delivering great food and gust experience.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY:

 

  • All shifts between 7am - 5pm, no double shifts. 
  • We require you to be fully flexible, however ideally only one weekend shift supporting your team.
  • Working in a professional brigade of 4/5 chefs.

  • 20 days annual holiday entitlement. (pro rata)
  • Pay will be hourly through probation, after successful review we would move to a basic salary package.
  • 50% discount in all Farm Girl sites.

The kitchen manager opportunity will lead the production kitchen and have an integral responsibility in supporting a growing business.

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Encourage an enthusiastic, engaged, and open approach to food and great service. 
  • Lead your team from the front, hands-on and be the example of what good looks like.
  • Set a professional example to all staff, emphasising quality and efficiency and maintain a good working atmosphere within the café.
  • Always training and developing your team to a high standard.
  • Review your team and support individual development needs.
  • Communicate well with your team underpinned by robust process, checklist and day to day responsibilities/actions. 
  • Ensure the kitchen maintains the highest levels of cleanliness, organisation and hygiene at all times.
  • Efficient ordering and communication with both suppliers and our kitchen team to ensure sufficient daily stock.
  • Understand and upkeep current health and safety and licensing legislation and communicate this to your team.
  • Creating rota's, approving timesheets, weekly Head Chef meetings, shipping/accepting orders in Apicbase. 
  • Apicbase is our day to day kitchen management software and you would need to understand this.
  • Wastage and stock rotation.

 

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

 

  • You will have excellent communication skills & experience in people management in a diverse team of at least 5 chefs.
  • You will have experience in a similar role, ideally in production kitchen and demonstrate how you have achieved year on year.
  • You will have a thoughtful career, talk through how you have developed from role to role.
  • You will have built strong relationships and moved from previous roles on good terms supported by strong references.
